Twelve local Chapters made up of approximately 3,000
members form Montana TU's State Council. The State
Council is the coordinating body that establishes
statewide policies for coldwater fisheries management
and protection. Two members from each Chapter, as
well as a number of at-large and advisory members,
make up the Council, which meets quarterly in rotating
locations throughout Montana. The business of the
Council is managed by a seven member Executive Committee
and an Executive Director. The State Council staff
is small, with three full-time employees located
in Missoula and one full-time employee in Helena.
